It was a nice opportunity for him and we have the Topham Trophy in our minds. It is a bit quick but we'll have a look at that or a look at something at Fairyhouse - it'll be one or the other. He got things his own way and he took his opportunity so I'm happy with him.

He jumped very well. He got his own way in front and that helps a free horse,. He's well able to jump and when he relaxes he just shows what he can do. He never really settled over hurdles. In better company he's probably going to get taken on but I rode him down to the start and he never picked up the bridle in behind horses so you wouldn't know, maybe the next day he could drop in. He's a classy horse when he puts it all together.

Patrick said he travelled very sweetly the whole way and thought he was idling in front in the last furlong. He has improved hugely from his last run and I'd imagine all roads lead across (to Cheltenham). He was bought in Aintree as an English point to point winner and is by the right horse in Stowaway, which we've been lucky with in Cheltenham. He is owned by the family of Archie O'Leary (Florida Pearl).

Patrick said he worked very well one day when I was away and he was right. He's one to look forward to, and will improve as he's so big and backward. Hopefully he's one for the Cheltenham bumper, and this is usually a good race.
