Three times a winner 'between the flags,' Benalma caused a 33/1 shock in the Trim Beginners Chase, putting up a bold front-running sound-jumping display to beat the 8/11 favourite, Captain Conflict, by a neck. Sat 28th Feb

After race at Navan Sun, 13th Dec, 2009 (1st)

We ran him over two miles and two furlongs at Thurles and Alan said it was too short for him. Alan suggested that we come here with him and everything worked out well today. Alan did everything right. I was going to go chasing with him but we might try and find a three mile hurdle race over the Christmas for him.
