He's come back to himself. He had a bit of a dip after Ascot. The ground was bottomless at Ascot and he ran well, finishing third to two very good horses,. At Goodwood things just didn't go right. The ground was probably a bit firm and he didn't travel well - why I don't know. He seems to be back to himself today. The plan now is to go to Ascot for the QE II. I think he likes good ground. Most horses don't like brick hard ground. On good ground he's himself. He's a very good horse on his day. He's ran eight times and won five and been third twice. His blip was Goodwood and you'll always give them one excuse. He's keeping me going and gets me out of bed in the morning. We took the noseband off him because we put a tongue-tie on him. He was trying to hold his breath, which he did at Goodwood, and that's probably why he choked up a bit.

It was great, the best thing that has happened to me for years. I'd like to thank Sheikh Hamdan for having faith in me for a long time. He's a very good horse. He's improving and I think a trip won't be any different problem to him.

He's a smart horse. He trained on well and came on a good bit from the handicap. That should put him right for three weeks time. I thought if he's not good enough to win the Tetrarch he had no business running in the Guineas. So far so good but he has to step up again now. I'd say he wants good ground but not brick hard as he's a big heavy horse. That was a bit steady for him today.

“He's a very nice horse. He was a bit backward last year when he only ran twice. He was third here and then won at Leopardstown. He made good progress over the winter,”
Kevin Prendergast
