I needed it badly,. He went back to the owner, he schooled him and he got caught up in wire. He gave a lot of trouble with a hind leg after and we were worried during the week as he was resting it and taking all the weight off it. Other than that we were thrilled with him. He's still able to do an ould bit even though age is coming against him. You can always depend a bit on him. He likes it here and that makes a difference as well, he'll hardly be around for another year though but we'll see what way it will be. A win is a win anytime and we're happy to get that out of him anyway.

Even though he's getting on in age he still fights away,. He's handicapped nice but when he goes up in weight he's not able for it. We'll see if we can get a bit out of him when he's the way he is. If the ground got too bad it wouldn't be the best for him as he likes that type of ground there. He's a strange type of horse as there are tracks he likes and tracks he hates, maybe like myself!

I thought his price was too good for me! It's not like I'd be having a whole lot on him but he was too big a price for me to back him! I'm happy he won though. He likes nice ground, not rock-hard ground and he could go to Tipperary next.

It's nice to get a winner at any grade [on the flat]. You can't beat a jockey with experience.
