She was entitled to win her maiden and she done it nicely on the night. She had a couple of very solid runs and I thought if she reproduced any of those she'd be hard to beat. It all went to plan. She could be improving as she's a big scopey filly. We'll run her in a big handicap and she'll take her chance in a Listed race somewhere before the end of the season too. M Halford, trainer

The Stewards informed W.J. Martin, trainer that Mystical Past, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Meandering, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
