Rounding the home bend Snookered (IRE), placed fourth, shifted slightly right-handed and made light contact with Rich Dream (IRE), placed second, on a number of occasions when the pair raced tight together.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, OH IT’S A SAUCEPOT, appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Windsor on 23 May 2022, where the mare finished seventh of ten, beaten by 12¼ lengths.
The representative of Chris Wall explained that the mare had benefitted from the step up in trip to 1 mile 3½ furlongs and also appreciated the Soft going on this occasion.
OH IT’S A SAUCEPOT was routine tested.
The performance of Mr Mccall (GB), which started second favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
It was noted that Philip Kirby could offer no explanation, other than this was a more competitive race and a step up in grade from the geldings previous win at Carlisle.
