The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Athassel (CAN), ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed fourth, Current State, ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed first and Diamond Rio, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed third. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental and took no further action. C.D. Hayes, rider of Athassel (CAN) trained by Ms. Carolyn Costigan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was bumped in the straight. R.P. Cleary, rider of Diamond Rio trained by Anthony Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was bumped in the straight.
