Sean Dylan Bowen, the rider of Buxted Reel (IRE), placed third, beaten by a head margin for second place, had appeared to ride less vigorously for some distance approaching the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Bowen was suspended for 7 days for failing to ride out fully to the finish on a horse that could have finished second.
Following the race, William Carson reported that Douglas Dc (IRE), placed second, was slowly away.
