The winner, JORVIK PRINCE, appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Chelmsford City on 29 September 2018 where the gelding finished sixth of seven, beaten by 7 lengths. It was noted that the representative of Karen Tutty could offer no explanation for the gelding's improved form.
Following the race, Joey Haynes reported that TIGER LYON (USA), placed seventh, fly-leapt leaving the stalls, Toby Eley reported that THE GOLDEN CUE, placed fifth, hung right-handed and Kevin Lundie reported that BRANDY STATION (IRE), placed fourth, hung badly right-handed in the home straight.
