I had four winners the first month I started, but then I had a disaster as the whole thing stopped. We got all these new horses which brought viruses from the sales, and this and that. I'm delighted for Gay and Annette (O'Callaghan, owners) as they had Capital Guarantee with me last year when I was based with (trainer) Kieran Cotter but when we sold him to England, he won three in a row. He was just ready, after castration, and came back and did well. Colin (Keane) carried this horse but he was tough too. The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages involving Perfect Judgement, ridden by C.J

MacRedmond, placed sixth, and Moltophino, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, placed second, where it appeared that contact was made between both horses. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted

R.P. Whelan, rider of Grand City Hall, trained by Jarlath P.Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had to check inside the final furlong

J.J.G. Ryan, rider of Moltophino, trained by John Andrew Kinsella, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left when under pressure

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Grand City Hall, ridden by R.P

Whelan, placed fourth, and Moltophino, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, placed second, where it appeared that Grand City met with interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.P Whelan stated that when he went for his race he had to check after he got interference from his outer. J.J.G. Ryan stated that his mount was a difficult ride and felt he had done his best to keep it straight in the circumstances. He accepted that he had used his whip in the right hand despite hanging left, but felt he had enough contact with his right rein at all times. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J.J.G. Ryan was in breach of Rule 214 (careless riding) and having considered his record (first offence), they suspended him for two racedays

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Salah Belle, trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

An extended handicap for three years old only (95 = 10st)
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
