Jason Watson, the rider of Qarasu (IRE), placed second, was suspended for 4 days for using his whip above the permitted level from 2½ furlongs out.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approximately 1 furlong out involving Qarasu (IRE), placed second, ridden by Jason Watson, Illumined (IRE), placed third, ridden by Kieran O'Neill, and Elwazir (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Jim Crowley.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Qarasu (IRE)’s placing as it was found to have been caused by both Illumined (IRE) and Qarasu (IRE).
Watson was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left-handed without correction and O'Neill was also suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to hang right-handed without sufficient correction, with both manoeuvres resulting in Elwazir (GB) being tightened for room and Crowley having to take a significant check.
Following the race, Kieran O'Neill reported that Illumined (IRE), placed third, hung right-handed.
