Moraawed (GB) unseated its rider on the way to post and cantered loose for a short distance.
Having been examined by the doctor and Veterinary Surgeon at the start, both the rider and gelding were deemed fit to race.
Tyler Saunders, the rider of Quick Breath (GB), placed fifth, beaten ½ a length for fourth, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Saunders’ explanation that he had taken a precautionary check off the heels of a weakening Call Out Loud (GB) in order to avoid clipping heels was noted.
Being a 7lb claimer, Saunders was offered the opportunity to have someone accompany him in the enquiry, but declined.
