An enquiry was held to consider why John Cornwall was running Torrent Des Mottes (FR) here at Southwell on going described as Good, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Market Rasen on 27 March 2019 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that having walked the track at Market Rasen, he had been unhappy with the ground conditions and the ground here today would better suit Torrent Des Mottes (FR).
Following the race, Miss Lorna Brooke reported that Yourholidayisover (IRE), which was pulled up, jumped poorly and the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding sustained a wound to its right hind.
