The performance of Picknick Park (GB), which started favourite and finished last of five finishers, was considered.
Charlie Hammond reported that the gelding was never travelling and Nick Kent could offer no further explanation other than Picknick Park (GB) had struck into its right fore.
The Veterinary Officer confirmed this and also reported that the gelding lost its right fore shoe.
Following the race, Jamie Hamilton reported that Brave Spartacus (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding revealed it had sustained a wound to its left fore.
