W.J. Lee, rider of The Fairy trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount reared leaving the stalls. The Stewards requested a report from Patrick Downey, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Three Bells, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on his last start in Sligo, when never getting into the race from a wide draw. He added that the horse returned to form today on a track that he's previously won on. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the report.
