Permission was given for Power Player (GB) to be mounted in the chute.
The winner, Sovereign Moon (GB), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Wolverhampton on 5 January 2022, where the filly finished tenth of the eleven runners, beaten by 9 ¾ lengths.
David Brown explained that Sovereign Moon (GB) benefited from the application of the first time blinkers.
Sovereign Moon (GB) was routine tested.
Approaching the final furlong Broughtons Flare (IRE), placed second, shifted quickly left-handed, giving a slight bump to Hot Desert (GB), unplaced, which in turn caused the rider of Power Player (GB), unplaced, to take a precautionary check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Broughtons Flare (IRE).
