C.R. King, rider of Hasselnott (GB), trained by Augustine Leahy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly right. J.A. Heffernan, rider of Red Rannagh, trained by W.P.Browne, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran too free throughout. The Stewards enquired into an incident in the final furlong involving Aspen Mountain, ridden by W.M. Lordan, winner, Hasselnott (GB), ridden by C.R. King, placed second, and Alphonsus (GB), ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed fourth, where it appeared Alphonsus (GB) suffered slight interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion the interference was accidental and they took no further action.
