Permission was given for King Of Ithaca (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Covert Mission (FR), trained by Kevin Phillippart de Foy, entered the Parade Ring without its cheekpieces, which were then located and fitted on the gelding before going to post.
Philloppart de Foy was cautioned.
Leaving the stalls Covert Mission (FR), placed third, jumped left-handed giving a bump to Twilight Kiss (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Covert Mission (FR).
The winner Top Of The Class (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Lingfield on 10 June 2024 where the filly finished seventh of eight, beaten 11 lengths.
Mark Loughnane’s explanation that the filly benefitted from a return to the all-weather was noted.
Top Of The Class (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Trevor Whelan reported that San Francisco Bay (IRE), placed second, hung right- handed in the final stages.
