An enquiry was held to consider the reason why the stalls for this race were positioned in the 2 mile 110 yard hurdle start rather than the 2 mile 68 yard flat start resulting in them having to be moved.
The Starter and the Clerk of the Course were interviewed.
The Starter explained that they had discovered the stalls were in the incorrect position when carrying out their usual pre-race checks.
He added that there had been sufficient time to re-position the stalls and not cause a delay to the start of the race.
The Clerk of the Course added that he would hold further discussions with the team responsible for the positioning of the stalls to ensure that the mistake did not happen again.
Their explanations were noted.
