Bryan Smart had obtained prior permission from the BHA to run Antagonize (GB) partially shod.
Permission was given for Extinction (USA) to wear a red hood and for Antagonize (GB) to be mounted in the chute, go early, and be led to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding why a section of running rail was down on the bend turning into the home straight on the outside of the track during the running of this race.
The Clerk of the Course was interviewed and having heard his evidence, the Stewards ordered a report to be forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
