Permission was given for Diamond Rock (GB) to go to post early.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Le Braye (IRE) ridden by Brian Hughes and trained by Gavin Cromwell which raced in rear before staying on in the home straight to finish third beaten 6¼ lengths.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The rider stated his instructions were to take his time, ride the gelding patiently and creep into the race as the gelding enjoys passing other horses.
He added that he had ridden the gelding hands and heels, and used his whip once approaching the last hurdle to which the gelding had failed to respond.
He further stated that Le Braye (IRE) has won over 3 miles and was outpaced in the back straight on this occasion.
He added that he reported at scales that the gelding had a breathing problem.
This was confirmed by the trainer who added that this is the reason why the gelding wears a tongue tie.
His explanation was noted.
Following the race, Danny McMenamin reported that Rubytwo (GB), placed seventh, was never travelling.
