Leaving the stalls, the free-running winner, Spanish Mane (IRE), jumped slightly right-handed as Madame Bonbon (FR), placed third, jumped marginally left-handed causing Charles Bishop, the rider of Doolily (GB), placed sixth, to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Spanish Mane (IRE) or Madame Bonbon (FR).
Following the race, Charles Bishop reported that Doolily (GB), placed sixth, was denied a clear run on the run to the line.
