An enquiry was held to review the start of Tin Fandango (GB), placed third, to ascertain how the gelding came to be slowly away.
Liam Wright, the rider of Tin Fandango (GB) and the Starter were interviewed.
The Stewards noted Wright’s explanation that Tin Fandango (GB) is an awkward horse who had initially got his head stuck towards the end of the load, resulting in the bit slipping through the gelding’s mouth which was corrected after help from a stalls handler.
Tin Fandango (GB) then moved his head to the other side and it was Wright’s intention to correct this at the last minute.
The gelding however became stubborn and he was unable to do this, resulting in Tin Fandango (GB) having his head still turned as the start was effected and the gelding being slowly away as a result.
Following the race, Saffie Osborne reported that Ocean Reach (GB), placed fourth, hung right-handed.
