Permission was given for Dovena (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
The winner, Dovena (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chelmsford City on 6 April 2023 where the filly finished sixth of seven, beaten by 14¾ lengths.
Amanda Perrett’s representative’s explanation that Dovena (GB) benefited from the drop in grade from a 0-60 handicap to a 0- 55 handicap on this occasion, was noted.
Dovena (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, William Carver reported that Charlotte Square (GB), unplaced, ran green.

THE FOLLOW @attheraces ON TWITTER HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) The winner, CLOUDY ROSE, appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run over 2 miles at Redcar on 10 April 2023 where the mare finished seventh of 13, beaten by 28½ lengths.
John Berry’s explanation that CLOUDY ROSE had benefited from the drop in trip to 1 mile 4 furlongs on a stiffer track on this occasion, having raced predominantly over 2 miles since its three-year-old season, was noted.
CLOUDY ROSE was routine tested.
Following the race, Gina Mangan reported that URBAN FOREST, unplaced, stopped quickly.
