The winner, Arqalina (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Lingfield Park on 15 January 2019 where the mare finished sixth of ten, beaten 43 ½ lengths over 2 miles 3 furlongs.
Venetia Williams’s explanation that Arqalina (IRE) benefited from the step up in trip on this occasion was noted.
Following the race Sean Bowen reported that General Picton (IRE), which was pulled up, moved poorly throughout.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of General Picton (IRE) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
