Permission was given for Polo The Mumm (FR) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider whether Mr Alex Ferguson the rider of Apachee Prince (IRE), which was pulled up after the second last fence, should have continued to jump the second from last fence when the gelding appeared to be tired.
The rider was interviewed and recordings of the incident were viewed.
The rider’s explanation that the gelding felt it had enough speed going into the wings and at the last minute had slowed up considerably which caused the gelding to jump very awkwardly over the fence was accepted.
The performance of SIZING SHARA, placed fifth, was considered.
Paul Henderson could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
