Following the race, Jeremy Scott reported that Seeanythingyoulike (IRE), which started favourite and finished last of the seven finishers, was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Soft on this occasion and in his opinion was riding tacky; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Seeanythingyoulike (IRE), during routine testing shortly after the race, revealed the gelding lost its left-fore shoe and was struck into on its left-fore.
