The performance of Hezmie (IRE), which finished unplaced, was considered.
Chris Fairhurst’s explanation that the filly was unsuited by the sharp track at Wolverhampton was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination, during routine testing of Hezmie (IRE), failed to reveal any abnormalities.
1 furlong out, Double Time (GB), placed second, shifted slightly right-handed at the same time as Salve Japan (GB), placed third, committed to a run to the outside, causing Salve Japan (GB) to make slight contact with Proud Fairy (GB), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that there was no riding offence involved and it had not improved the placing of any runner.
Following the race, George Rooke reported that Double Time (GB) hung right throughout.
