Following the race, Robert Dunne reported that GOING GOLD (IRE), unplaced, jumped poorly throughout. The Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding had bled from the nose. The Veterinary Officer further reported that JURBY, placed third, lost its right fore shoe and had bled from the nose and a post-race examination, during routine testing, of IRISH PROPHECY (IRE), which was pulled up, revealed the gelding had bled from the nose.
