The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Victorious Secret, ridden by K.J. Leonard, placed first, Rathbride Raven (GB), ridden by C.D. Hayes, unplaced, Arcara, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, unplaced and Pillar (GB), ridden by C.T. Keane, placed sixth. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned in the presence of John James Feane, trainer, who accompanied K.J.Leonard in the Stewards room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that K.J.Leonard was in breach of Rule 214, in that he rode carelessly and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days. Furthermore the rider was found to be in breach of Rule 211, in that he failed to keep a straight line before the marker poles and having considered his record, fined him ?150. C.D. Hayes, rider of Rathbride Raven (GB) trained by Kevin Prendergast, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered after the start. D.P. McDonogh, rider of Arcara, trained by P.D. Deegan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was badly hampered after the start. C.T. Keane, rider of Pillar (GB) trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered after the start. C.R. King, rider of Hasselnott (GB), trained by Augustine Leahy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung in the straight.

An extended handicap for three yrs old only (75 = 10st)
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won.
