The explanation from the representative of Nigel Twiston-Davies, that the mare was unsuited by the Heavy going and would appreciate less testing conditions was noted.
The performance of Minella Double (IRE), which was pulled up, was considered.
The representative of Olly Murphy could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
In a tightly packed field approaching the first hurdle, Crossing The Bar (IRE), placed fourth, clipped the heels of Mourzouk (IRE), which was later pulled up, and stumbled badly after that runner had been steadied out of the early contest for the lead, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that there was no riding offence involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend leaving the back straight involving the winner, Ballymagroarty Boy (IRE), ridden by Ben Bromley and Front View (FR), placed third, ridden by Benjamin Macey.
Being a 10lb claimer, Macey was offered accompaniment, but declined.
Bromley was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to edge left-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear of Front View (FR), causing Macey to take a slight check.
