Conservative (IRE), drawn 1, jumped sharply left-handed leaving the stalls resulting in the rider of Frantastic (GB), drawn 2, having to steady, and Maytree Respite (IRE), drawn 3, and Cosmic Desert (GB), drawn 4, being carried off their intended lines.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of any horse.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving Frantastic (GB), placed third, ridden by Frankie Dettori, Conservative (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Jamie Spencer, and Stevenson (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Charles Bishop.
Spencer was suspended for 2 days for careless riding for switching his mount left-handed making contact with and carrying Frantastic (GB) off its intended line, which in turn caused the colt to bump Stevenson (GB) on the outside.
Cieren Fallon, the rider of Maytree Respite (IRE), placed second, was also present in the enquiry but having heard the evidence, was found not to be involved in the interference.
