The performance of Hidden Heroics (FR), which started joint-favourite and finished fifth, beaten by 33¾ lengths, was considered.
It was noted that the representative of Dan Skelton could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance other than Hidden Heroics (FR) made a bad mistake at the seventh last-fence and never travelled thereafter.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The winner, Le Cameleon (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Taunton on 7 February 2023 where the gelding finished last of five, beaten by 32½ lengths.
The representative of Mrs Jane Williams’ explanation that the yard is returning to better form, was noted.
Le Cameleon (GB) was routine tested.
