An enquiry was held to consider why Jamie Spencer, who was declared to ride Kitaabaat (GB), and was required to provide a urine sample had failed to arrive.
The Trainer, the Clerk of the Scales and the Sampling Officer were interviewed.
David Simcock explained that Spencer notified him at 10:18am that he was feeling unwell, informing him that he would be unable to take the ride at Chelmsford this evening after which Simcock informed the Stewards.
The Stewards gave permission for Callum Shepherd to replace Spencer and the matter was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Kitaabaat (GB), which finished unplaced, bled from the nose.
