An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference shortly after turning in when the winner, Navajo Star (IRE), ridden by Kieran O’Neill, interfered with Mood For Mischief (GB), placed second, ridden by Liam Keniry.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Navajo Star (IRE)’s placing as the filly always appeared to be holding Mood For Mischief (GB) and that the momentum lost by Mood For Mischief (GB) as a result of the interference, was deemed less than the winning margin of ½ length.
O’Neill was suspended for 4 days for improper riding as he angled right, when there was insufficient room, when he ought to have reasonably known that interference would result.
Following the race, Kieran O'Neill reported that the winner, Navajo Star (IRE), hung right-handed in the home straight.
