The winner, Robin Of Sherwood (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Newton Abbot on 8 September 2020, where the gelding was pulled up.
David Rees explained that Robin Of Sherwood (IRE) appreciated the return to Ffos Las and the softer ground conditions on this occasion.
The gelding was routine tested.
The performance of Who Shot Jr (IRE), which started favourite and was pulled up, was considered.
Colin Tizzard’s representative could offer no explanation for the gelding’s poor performance and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination revealed Who Shot Jr (IRE) had lost its right- fore shoe.
