Following the race, Miss Alice Stevens reported that Steeles Terrace (IRE), which started favourite and was pulled up, was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
A Pennock reported that Steeles Terrace (IRE) was unsuited by the ground which, in his opinion, was softer than the official description of Good to Firm, Good in places.
