Permission was given for Tobouggaloo (GB) and General Brook (IRE) to go early to post.
The winner, Ascot Day (FR), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Chester on 15 June 2019 where the gelding finished eighth of nine runners, beaten 17 lengths.
The explanation of Bernard Llewellyn’s representative that the gelding had benefited from being ridden with more restraint on this occasion, was noted.
Ascot Day (FR) was routine tested.
Approximately ten furlongs out, Puzzle Cache (GB), unplaced, shifted left whilst running freely and bumped Kingfast (IRE), placed eighth, on several occasions, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Andrew Breslin reported that Enmeshing (GB), unplaced, was slowly away, Mitch Godwin reported that Marengo (GB), placed third, hung left in the home straight, the representative of Archie Watson reported that Perfect Grace (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by the Good to Soft, Soft in places going and would prefer a firmer surface, the Veterinary Officer reported that Foresee (GER), placed seventh, lost its left fore shoe.
