The winner, Royal Act (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Uttoxeter on 31 December 2021, over 3 miles, where the gelding was pulled up.
Sarah-Jayne Davies’ explanation that the gelding benefitted from a drop back in trip to 2 miles 1½ furlongs was noted.
Royal Act (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, David Rees confirmed a report from Philip Armson that the race may have come too soon for Kingston King (IRE), placed third, as the gelding had raced 8 days ago at Ffos Las.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Wildkatze (GER), which was pulled up, had bled from the nose.
