Straw Fan Jack (GB) had to be reshod after spreading a plate on the way to post, causing a delay to the start of this race.
At the third last fence, Stage Star (IRE), placed fifth, jumped left handed taking Visionarian (IRE), placed third, off its intended line but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Stage Star (IRE) which started favourite and finished fifth of five runners, was considered.
The explanation from the representative of Paul Nicholls that the gelding had ran flat following its run at Cheltenham on 16th March 2023 was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported a post-race examination of Stage Star (IRE) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
