Permission was given for Opening Bid (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood and to be mounted on the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding the fall of Kauto The King (FR), ridden by Brendan Powell, when jumping the final fence.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
Powell explained that Kauto The King (FR) suddenly lost its action shortly before the fence, not allowing him sufficient time to safely pull the gelding up, therefore, he had to commit to jumping the fence.
His explanation was noted.
Following the race, Brendan Powell reported that Kauto The King (FR), which fell, lost action shortly before the final fence.
