Permission was given for Another Angel (IRE) to go early to post.
Inside the final ½ furlong, James Watt (IRE), placed second, edged right, causing the winner, Dazzling Des (IRE), to become slightly unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Dazzling Des (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Lingfield on 20 February 2021 where the gelding finished seventh of eight, beaten 8¾ lengths.
It was noted that David O’Meara’s representative could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.
Dazzling Des (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Graham Lee reported that James Watt (IRE), placed second, hung right-handed inside the final furlong and Ben Robinson reported that Thrilla In Manila (GB), placed sixth, ran too free.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Ballyare (GB), placed fourth, was displaying a prolonged recovery rate.
