Prior to this race, Jedd O’Keeffe was asked to explain why he was running Miracle Eagle (IRE) here at Haydock on going described as Soft, Good to Soft in places, having declared the filly a non-runner at Musselburgh on 26 August 2020 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that they had hoped the ground at Haydock would have dried out more prior to this meeting, but they are running out of options and the owners are keen for the filly to take her chance today.
Approaching 2 furlongs out, Selecto (GB), unplaced, lugged quickly right-handed causing Bellatrixsa (IRE), placed third, to be checked in its run.
However after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Selecto (GB), which finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Roger Charlton could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
