The Stewards interviewed R. Loughran, rider of Shantou Sisu, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg. 10. 3(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his record into account cautioned the rider
The Stewards enquired into possible interference at the second last hurdle involving Danse Away, ridden by D.E
Mullins, placed first and British Art (GB), ridden by A. Ring, placed second. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action
W.J.Lanigan, trainer of Shantou Sisu, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries (via the Veterinary Officer) that his charge had evidence of kickback in his respiratory tract on endoscopic examination post race.
An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards rated 80-102
