Jumping the first fence on the second circuit, The Cathal Don (IRE), placed fourth, made a bad mistake on landing, veering sharply right-handed, heavily bumping Conceal (IRE), and causing the rider of Conceal (IRE) to become unbalanced and to be unseated.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
When jumping the first fence in the back straight on the second circuit, the riderless Conceal (IRE) shifted left-handed into the path of Dindin (FR), placed second, severely hampering its take off stride and causing the gelding to lose momentum; which in turn, resulted in Kilfords Queen (IRE), placed fifth, to jump slowly and become unbalanced on landing, losing all momentum.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Ramore Will (IRE), appeared to show improvement in form compared with its previous run at Plumpton on 13 March 2023 where the gelding finished fourth of eight runners, beaten 122½ lengths.
Chris Gordon’s explanation that the horse was better suited to the shorter distance on quicker ground today was noted.
