Approaching 1 ½ furlongs out, Vega Magic (IRE), placed second, shifted right-handed causing More Than Love (GB), which finished last of the eight runners, to have to be checked, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Vega Magic (IRE).
Following the race, Daniel Tudhope, reported that Convict (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, stumbled when travelling over the road crossing approximately 6 furlongs out, causing the pin of the stirrup leather to pop out, resulting in him losing his irons for the remainder of the race.
The stirrup leather was inspected by the Stewards and as it was found to be in a serviceable condition, no further action was taken.
