Permission was given for Kyber Crystal (IRE) to go early to post and to be mounted in the chute and for Notre Maison (GB) to wear a red hood to post and to be mounted in the chute.
Approaching 1 furlong out, Notre Maison (GB), placed second, edged quickly right-handed, giving a bump to the winner, Thank The Lord (GB), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line, involving Kyber Crystal (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Taylor Fisher and ALYA’S GOLD AWARD (IRE), unplaced, ridden by William Carson.
Fisher was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to edge left-handed, when insufficiently clear of ALYA’S GOLD AWARD (IRE), causing Carson to take a check.
The winner, Thank The Lord (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Lingfield on 21 August 2023 where the gelding finished eleventh of thirteen, beaten 10 ¼ lengths.
Simon Hodgson’s explanation that Thank The Lord (GB) had benefited from a more positive ride on this occasion was noted and the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Laura Pearson reported that Lucy Lightfoot (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
