The winner, Mcgroarty (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Stratford-upon-Avon on 1 June 2019, where the gelding finished fifth of six, beaten 60 lengths.
Dr Richard Newland explained that Mcgroarty (IRE) was suited by the way the race was run today in that the gelding wasn’t hassled in its prominent position.
Following the race, Richard Johnson reported that Champagne At Tara (GB), placed fourth, was outpaced from the start and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
