Permission was given for Dal Horrisgle (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Jeremiah (GB), ridden by Jim Crowley, and Sam Cooke (IRE), placed second, ridden by Harry Bentley.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Jeremiah (GB)’s placing as although there had been slight contact between the two runners, neither rider appeared to lose any momentum as a result of the interference and the Stewards therefore ordered the placings remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental as Jeremiah (GB) and Sam Cooke (IRE) had come together, thereafter Sam Cooke (IRE) had edged slightly left-handed on the run to the line, and as such the Stewards were unable to apportion blame to either rider.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Country (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, had bled from the nose.
