He pulled out the stops there. It was a funny race as he made a few mistakes and Barry wasn’t that hard on him until he began to realise he might have a chance in the straight. The ones in front went quick enough and were tiring and he had a bit more toe to keep going. Hopefully there is a big handicap in him some day.

The Stewards interviewed B. Browne, rider of Best Behavior, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that B. Browne was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record they suspended him for 2 racedays
P. Townend, rider of Stones And Roses trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped very big early on and never travelled thereafter
